According to part 5 of Article 405 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the employee's workplace (position) is preserved during childcare leave. A maximum of six years of these vacations are added to the length of service, including the length of service in the specialty. That is, if an employee has taken 2-year maternity leave 3 times, the fourth leave period will not be added to the length of service.
Also, in this article of the Code, after pregnancy and childbirth leave, according to the woman's wish, she is given childcare leave until her child turns two years old, and for this period, it is established that allowance will be paid in accordance with the procedure determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
A woman is also given additional leave without pay to take care of her child until she is three years old.
